Common Questions About Immortelle
Real answers to the questions we're asked most about this formula — if yours isn't here, Cassandra's happy to help directly.
How do I use Immortelle Vitamin B3 Serum?
Apply 2–3 drops to clean skin in the morning, before your moisturiser. A little goes a long way — niacinamide is effective at low volumes.
Can I use this if I have sensitive skin?
Yes — Immortelle is formulated without synthetic fragrance or common sensitisers, and niacinamide is one of the best-tolerated actives in skincare, generally suitable for reactive, rosacea-prone and eczema-prone skin.
Is it safe to use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?
Niacinamide is widely considered safe in pregnancy and breastfeeding, but always check with your doctor or midwife before introducing any new active.
How long until I see results?
Clinical research on topical niacinamide has shown visible improvements in tone and texture from around 4 weeks, with continued improvement in hyperpigmentation, barrier function and fine lines over 12 weeks [Bissett et al., 2005; Hakozaki et al., British Journal of Dermatology, 2002].
Does niacinamide actually help with pigmentation, or is that a marketing claim?
It's genuinely evidenced. Niacinamide reduces hyperpigmentation by inhibiting the transfer of melanin-containing melanosomes to skin cells — confirmed in a split-face clinical trial showing measurably greater pigment reduction on the treated side after 4–8 weeks [Hakozaki et al., 2002].
Can I layer this with retinol or vitamin C?
Yes — niacinamide pairs well with both and is often used specifically to buffer irritation from stronger actives. Vitamin C in the morning, retinoids at night, Immortelle fitting into either.
What's the difference between the 30mL bottle and the 10mL travel size?
Same formula, same concentration — the 10mL is simply sized for travel or trying the product before committing to full size.
Is it vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes — every Ocinium formula is vegan and cruelty-free, with no animal testing anywhere in the supply chain.
Will niacinamide help with redness and rosacea, not just pigmentation?
Yes — niacinamide has documented anti-inflammatory effects and has been studied specifically for barrier-supporting benefits in reactive and rosacea-prone skin [Draelos et al., Cutis, 2005].
How should I store it?
Keep in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Once opened, use within 12 months.
Where does Immortelle fit in my routine if I'm using other Ocinium products?
Immortelle is a AM or PM serum step. Layer it before your moisturiser, and it pairs well underneath retinol-based treatments at night.
How much should I use, and how long will the 30mL bottle last?
A little goes further than you'd expect — most people find their 30mL bottle lasts 6–10 weeks with regular use. Using more than the guided amount won't improve results and just uses product faster.
What if I don't see results after a few weeks?
Skin cell turnover takes time, so most actives need consistent use over several weeks before results are visible — stopping and restarting resets that clock. If you've used it consistently for the timeframes above and aren't seeing change, book a consultation with Cassandra to check it's the right formula for your specific skin.
Where can I see the full ingredient list and why each one is included?
Every active in every Ocinium formula is documented on our Ingredient Intelligence page, with the evidence behind each one explained in plain terms.
Should I patch test before using this?
If you have reactive, compromised or previously sensitised skin, we'd recommend a 24-hour patch test on your inner forearm before applying to your face. Most people won't need to, but it's a sensible precaution if you're unsure how your skin will respond.
Can I use this alongside dermatologist-prescribed treatments or in-clinic procedures?
Let your dermatologist or treating clinician know what's in your routine, particularly around the timing of any prescription actives or in-clinic procedures like peels or laser — they're best placed to advise on spacing and any specific interactions.
Is Immortelle included in any of your sets?
Yes — it's included in Luminance Collection, Clarity Collection, and Serum Discovery Set.
Can I subscribe and save on Immortelle?
Yes — set it to auto-replenish and save 20% on every recurring order, with the flexibility to skip, pause or cancel any time.
