Common Questions About Oculus
Real answers to the questions we're asked most about this formula — if yours isn't here, Cassandra's happy to help directly.
What does Oculus Bright Eye Serum actually target?
Dark circles, puffiness and the fine, delicate skin around the eye area — using ceramides and hyaluronic acid to hydrate and support skin that shows ageing and fatigue faster than the rest of the face.
How do I use Oculus Bright Eye Serum?
Apply a small amount (a rice-grain sized dot per eye) using your ring finger, gently pressing into the orbital bone rather than dragging the skin. Use morning and night.
Can I use this if I have sensitive skin?
Yes — formulated without sulphates, parabens or phthalates specifically because the eye area is more reactive than the rest of the face.
Is it safe during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?
Yes, generally — Oculus doesn't contain retinoids or high-percentage actives typically flagged in pregnancy.
How long until I see results on dark circles and puffiness?
Puffiness and hydration-related dullness typically improve within 1–2 weeks. Dark circles from pigmentation or thinning skin take longer — usually 6–8 weeks.
Can I use this with my regular face serum, or does it replace it?
Use both — Oculus is formulated specifically for the thinner, more delicate eye area and should be layered with, not instead of, your regular face serum and moisturiser.
Will this help with fine lines around the eyes, or just circles and puffiness?
Hyaluronic acid's hydrating effect can temporarily plump fine dehydration lines, though deeper expression lines benefit more from a broader anti-ageing routine.
Is it vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes — every Ocinium formula is vegan and cruelty-free, with no animal testing anywhere in the supply chain.
Can I use this if I wear contact lenses?
Yes, but apply carefully to avoid migration into the eye — pat gently along the orbital bone rather than directly on the lash line.
How should I store it?
Keep in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Once opened, use within 12 months.
Where does Oculus fit in my routine if I'm using other Ocinium products?
Oculus is a eye-area step, layered with your regular routine. Layer it after your face serum but before a heavier eye cream or moisturiser reaches that area.
How much should I use, and how long will the eye serum bottle last?
A little goes further than you'd expect — most people find their eye serum bottle lasts 6–10 weeks with regular use. Using more than the guided amount won't improve results and just uses product faster.
What if I don't see results after a few weeks?
Skin cell turnover takes time, so most actives need consistent use over several weeks before results are visible — stopping and restarting resets that clock. If you've used it consistently for the timeframes above and aren't seeing change, book a consultation with Cassandra to check it's the right formula for your specific skin.
Where can I see the full ingredient list and why each one is included?
Every active in every Ocinium formula is documented on our Ingredient Intelligence page, with the evidence behind each one explained in plain terms.
Should I patch test before using this?
If you have reactive, compromised or previously sensitised skin, we'd recommend a 24-hour patch test on your inner forearm before applying to your face. Most people won't need to, but it's a sensible precaution if you're unsure how your skin will respond.
Can I use this alongside dermatologist-prescribed treatments or in-clinic procedures?
Let your dermatologist or treating clinician know what's in your routine, particularly around the timing of any prescription actives or in-clinic procedures like peels or laser — they're best placed to advise on spacing and any specific interactions.
Is Oculus included in any of your sets?
Not currently — this one's available as a standalone product rather than part of a set right now.
Can I subscribe and save on Oculus?
Yes — set it to auto-replenish and save 20% on every recurring order, with the flexibility to skip, pause or cancel any time.
