Common questions

Common Questions About Metamorphis

Real answers to the questions we're asked most about this formula — if yours isn't here, Cassandra's happy to help directly.

What does Metamorphis Multi-Vitamin Cream actually do for my skin?

It combines retinol, vitamin C, vitamin E, niacinamide and panthenol in one formula to address multiple signs of ageing at once — brightening tone, supporting collagen production, and strengthening the skin barrier. A 12-week clinical study on 5% niacinamide alone showed measurable reduction in wrinkle depth, hyperpigmentation and redness [Bissett et al., Dermatologic Surgery, 2005] — Metamorphis combines this with retinol and vitamin C for a broader multi-vitamin effect.

How do I use Metamorphis Multi-Vitamin Cream?

Apply a small amount to clean skin in the evening, after cleansing and before any facial oil. Because it contains retinol, it's best introduced 2–3 nights a week initially, building up to nightly use as your skin adjusts.

Can I use this if I have sensitive skin?

Because it contains retinol at an active concentration, this is one of our stronger formulas. If you have reactive or very sensitive skin, we'd suggest starting with Immortelle Vitamin B3 Serum first, or introducing Metamorphis just 1–2 nights a week to gauge tolerance.

Is it safe to use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

We don't recommend this product during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to the retinol content. Always confirm with your doctor or midwife, and consider Revive Rescue Elixir (bakuchiol-based) as a pregnancy-safe alternative in the meantime.

How long until I see results?

Most people notice brighter, more even-toned skin within 2–4 weeks. Improvements in fine lines and firmness typically continue building over 8–12 weeks of consistent use.

Can I layer this with vitamin C or exfoliating acids?

Metamorphis already contains vitamin C, so we wouldn't recommend adding a separate high-strength vitamin C serum on the same night. Avoid combining with strong exfoliating acids on the same evening — alternate nights instead.

What's the difference between Metamorphis and Elemental Vitamin A+C+E Serum?

Metamorphis is a cream — heavier, more emollient, formulated as a complete night moisturiser. Elemental is a lighter serum focused specifically on antioxidant defence. Many clients use Elemental as a serum step, then Metamorphis as the moisturiser over the top.

Is it vegan and cruelty-free?

Yes — every Ocinium formula is vegan and cruelty-free, with no animal testing anywhere in the supply chain.

Will this cause purging or breakouts when I start using it?

Retinol can cause an initial adjustment period — mild dryness or flaking — as cell turnover increases, sometimes mistaken for a breakout. This typically settles within 2–3 weeks. Introducing it gradually minimises this.

How should I store it?

Keep in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight — retinol and vitamin C both degrade with heat and light exposure. Once opened, use within 12 months.

Where does Metamorphis fit in my routine if I'm using other Ocinium products?

Metamorphis is a PM treatment/moisturiser step. Layer it after a lighter serum like Elemental or Immortelle, as your final PM step.

How much should I use, and how long will the 50mL bottle last?

A little goes further than you'd expect — most people find their 50mL bottle lasts 6–10 weeks with regular use. Using more than the guided amount won't improve results and just uses product faster.

What if I don't see results after a few weeks?

Skin cell turnover takes time, so most actives need consistent use over several weeks before results are visible — stopping and restarting resets that clock. If you've used it consistently for the timeframes above and aren't seeing change, book a consultation with Cassandra to check it's the right formula for your specific skin.

Where can I see the full ingredient list and why each one is included?

Every active in every Ocinium formula is documented on our Ingredient Intelligence page, with the evidence behind each one explained in plain terms.

Should I patch test before using this?

If you have reactive, compromised or previously sensitised skin, we'd recommend a 24-hour patch test on your inner forearm before applying to your face. Most people won't need to, but it's a sensible precaution if you're unsure how your skin will respond.

Can I use this alongside dermatologist-prescribed treatments or in-clinic procedures?

Let your dermatologist or treating clinician know what's in your routine, particularly around the timing of any prescription actives or in-clinic procedures like peels or laser — they're best placed to advise on spacing and any specific interactions.

Is Metamorphis included in any of your sets?

Yes — it's included in Age Smart Set.

Can I subscribe and save on Metamorphis?

Yes — set it to auto-replenish and save 20% on every recurring order, with the flexibility to skip, pause or cancel any time.
